The Formulas on These Matte Lipsticks are 98% Mask Proof
On the rare occasions that I do venture over to my quarantined friends home for a keke I like to wear a full beat of makeup, mainly because I’m extra as hell. But now that the world has changed I’ll pretty much make any excuse to have a makeup moment. I’ve mastered my base when it comes to wearing a mask but, lipstick was a whole other obstacle.
The key to a good mask proof lipstick is obviously to stick to a matte formula but bay bay, not all matte formulas were made equally. Some matte lipsticks can’t handle a 20 – 60-minute hotboxing commute. So I’ve compiled a list of my favorite mask proof matte formulas that stay in place and are also Black girl-friendly.
The Lip Bar Liquid Matte Lipstick $13
The Lip Bar’s liquid matte lipstick deserves employee of the month because she is that girl! AND THAT’S ON PERIOD. This formula is unbelievably pigmented so a little goes a very long way. I’m absolutely obsessed with this lipstick formula and am actually wearing the color drama queen in the lead image of this post. ?
Mac Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour $24
The Mac powder kiss liquid lip colour has a very creamy formula that applies like buttah. The formula applies softly on the lips and takes about a minute to fully dry. One thing I absolutely love about this formula is that it feels soft and creamy on the lips all day long.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Stain $18
The Anastasia Beverly Hills lip stain just doesn’t move. Now I must warn you that it does slightly stain your lips after you use makeup remover and the color selection is kinda slim. But if you’re looking for something that is going to really stick to your lips, this stain is the way to go.
NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream $6.50
This soft matte lip cream by NYX cosmetics is a banger, to say the least. Other than the fact that this baby is under $10 whole zollas, the formula is pretty damn good. Keep in mind that this formula does take up to two minutes to fully dry.
Crystal Hearts Cosmetics Liquid Matte Lipstick $12 – $16 on Amazon
The Crystal Hearts Cosmetics liquid Matte Lipstick has a great assortment of beautifully pigmented Black girl friendly shades. Although this matte lipstick has a good one minute drying period that one minute is worth the wait with its non transfer formula.
