Let’s get one thing straight: I love New York, but this city has been playing in our faces for far too long. Between the rent hikes, $10 chopped cheeses, and gentrifiers calling the cops over double-parked cars during church service—something’s gotta give. And with the 2025 NYC primary approaching, I’m using my vote to advocate for someone who actually understands the struggle: Zohran Mamdani.
If you’re unfamiliar, Mamdani is a Queens assembly member who’s been walking the walk since he got elected. He’s not just tweeting and TikTok vibes—he’s consistently spoken out on behalf of working-class New Yorkers, immigrants, and folks of color. From housing justice to food insecurity, his policies make it clear: he’s about redistributing power and wealth, not hoarding it behind closed-door fundraisers.
Why I’m With Zohran:
He’s vocal about rent control and actually has plans to rein in the corporate landlords bleeding our boroughs dry.
He supports reducing food costs and expanding food access, because grocery stores in underserved neighborhoods shouldn’t look like post-apocalyptic scenes.
He centers community safety, not surveillance or over-policing. His ideas make room for mental health care, conflict resolution, and actual investment in our blocks—not just more cops on them.
I know politicians love to whisper sweet nothings come election season, but Zohran’s track record speaks loud. He’s been in the trenches advocating for tenants’ rights, MTA riders, and marginalized voices long before this mayoral run.
And while I personally believe every election is about harm reduction, this one feels different. This feels like a chance—a real one—to redirect the energy of this city toward something that actually serves the people who make it magical. Yes, I’m talking about us: Black folks, brown folks, queer folks, working folks, hustling-every-day-just-to-make-it folks.
So what should you do?
Start paying attention. It’s not too late to do your research. Talk to your community. And when the time comes—vote like your rent depends on it (because let’s be honest… it does).
🗳️ NYC Primary is around the corner. The future of this city is on the ballot.
Let’s move like a collective and vote for someone who moves with us.
I’m voting Zohran Mamdani. You should at least know why.
