5 Reasons Why They Need to Bring Back Noah’s Arc Expeditiously

June 12, 20254 min read

While I am so here for the premiere of the brand new Noah’s Arc movie dropping June 20th on Paramount+, go ahead and cancel those plans, because the girls are streaming. But real fans already know that after just two incredible seasons and one heartwarming, drama-filled movie, we were left with more questions than closure. This film may be giving what it needs to give for now, but let’s not get it twisted — we need at least three more seasons to truly feel fed. The culture demands it.

So in the spirit of joyful nostalgia, righteous frustration, and proper respect for Black queer excellence, I”m breaking down exactly why the return of Noah’s Arc isn’t just a want — it’s a need.

1. It Was Groundbreaking Black Queer Representation

Before Pose, before P-Valley, before “diversity” became a buzzword in boardrooms — there was Noah’s Arc. It was the first scripted series with an all-Black, gay male cast, and it was everything: honest, sexy, spiritual, hilarious, and messy in the best way. It didn’t flatten queer Black identity into a single narrative. It gave us friendship, family, softness, and struggle — all in full color.

2. Each Character Had Layers — Not Just Labels

These weren’t just characters — they were complex Black men who felt real. Noah, Ricky, Alex, and Chance each had fully fleshed-out arcs. The show didn’t rely on stereotypes or archetypes — it leaned into nuance. They had flaws, triumphs, contradictions, and charisma. They weren’t just written to check boxes. They were the box.

3. The Writing Was Funny, Sharp, and Unapologetic

The pen was HOT. Noah’s Arc had some of the best writing on TV — period. It was laugh-out-loud funny one moment and hit-you-in-the-heart the next. The drama? Top tier. The one-liners? Still iconic. It felt like listening in on your best friend’s group chat while sipping a mimosa and minding your business — until the tea started spilling.

4. We Deserve Black Queer Joy On Screen — Period

In 2025, representation still feels like a chore for the industry. Black queer stories are either erased or flattened into trauma porn. Noah’s Arc was ahead of its time by making space for joy, messiness, love, and softness — without apology. A reboot would be more than just a throwback — it would be a cultural reset. Black queer joy matters.

5. Two Seasons and a Movie? Disrespectful.

Let’s be serious — two seasons and one movie? That’s criminal. Meanwhile, shows like Entourage got eight seasons and a movie no one even asked for. Noah’s Arc deserved so much more. And the 2020 Rona Chronicles special proved the cast still has the chemistry, the chops, and the fanbase. So… what are we waiting for?

One Last Thing

We’re tired of crumbs. We want the full plate. Noah’s Arc didn’t just walk so other shows could run — it built the damn road. It’s time to give this legendary series the continuation it deserves.

Dear Hollywood: stop playing. Run Noah his reboot. Streamers, studios, anyone with a budget and a brain — the culture is calling. Don’t leave us on read.
